FRIENDSHIP IS A PRICELESS GIFT
THAT CANNOT BE BOUGHT OR SOLD
BUT ITS VALUE IS FAR GREATER
THAN THE MOUNTAIN MADE OF GOLD

FOR GOLD IS COLD & LIFELESS
IT CAN NEITHER SEE NOR HEAR
& IN THE TIME OF TROUBLE
IT IS POWER LESS 2 CHEER--IT HAS NO EARS 2 LISTEN

NOR HEART 2 UNDERSTAND
IT CANNOT BRING U CONFORT

SO WHEN U ASK GOD FOR A GIFT

BE THANKFUL IF HE SENDS

NOT DIAMONDS, PEARLS OR RICHES

BUT THE LOVE OF REAL TRUE FRIEND

Alexander Graham Bell_biography

Alexander Graham Bell (March 3, 1847 – August 2, 1922) was a scientist, inventor, engineer and innovator who is credited with inventing the first practical telephone. Bell's father, grandfather, and brother had all been associated with work on elocution and speech, and both his mother and wife were deaf, profoundly influencing Bell's life's work. His research on hearing and speech further led him to experiment with hearing devices which eventually culminated in Bell being awarded the first U.S. patent for the telephone in 1876. In retrospect, Bell considered his most famous invention an intrusion on his real work as a scientist and refused to have a telephone in his study.

Many other inventions marked Bell's later life, including groundbreaking work in optical telecommunications, hydrofoils and aeronautics. In 1888, Alexander Graham Bell became one of the founding members of the National Geographic Society.

He was born in Edinburgh on March 3, 1847. He had two brothers: Melville James Bell and Edward Charles Bell. Both of his brothers died because of tuberculosis. His father was Professor Alexander Melville Bell, and his mother was Eliza Grace. Alexander Graham Bell displayed a natural curiosity about his world, resulting in gathering botanical specimens as well as experimenting even at an early age. His best friend was Ben whose family operated a flour mill gave him idea. Bell built a homemade device that combined rotating paddles with sets of nail brushes, creating a simple dehusking machine that was put into operation and used steadily for a number of years. In return, John Herdman gave both boys the run of a small workshop within which to "invent". Bell showed a sensitive nature and a talent for art, poetry and music that was encouraged by his mother. With no formal training, he mastered the piano and became the family's pianist. Bell's preoccupation with his mother's deafness led him to study acoustics. As a young child, Bell, like his brothers, received his early schooling at home from his father. At an early age, however, he was enrolled at the Royal High School, Edinburgh, Scotland, which he left at age 15, completing only the first four forms.

His first experiment was related with sound. By 1874, Bell's initial work on the harmonic telegraph had entered a formative stage with progress it made both at his new Boston "laboratory" (a rented facility) as well as at his family home in Canada a big success. Bell experimented with a "phonautograph," a pen-like machine that could draw shapes of sound waves on smoked glass by tracing their vibrations. After through a lot of failure, at last he found a telephone which can be use by people nowadays for communicating from one place to another even though it is far.

Appeal Letter

Dear my friend,

Let save this earth, by stopping this Global Warming. The things that we can do are; do not litter, do not cut the trees (illegal logging), do not destroy the forests. For this world is our place to live. This earth is our home; we are not allowed to destroy this lovely earth.

If we destroy it, we don’t have place to live. And also the animals, they don’t have place to live. Because in this universe, world is the only place that is possible for us to live. The advantages not to destroy this beloved earth are: we have a clean place to live, neat place to live, we can do all the activities that we usually do without any difficulties. The animals will get the advantages as well, they will have good enough place to live, though the trees are not enough for some of them. And they can do the live cycle.

So many things that we can do to save this earth, start from the smallest things.

Like:

  1. Put the trash on the trash can
  2. Use the public transportation instead our personal car.
  3. Do not use too many plastics
  4. Do not use too papers if possible
  5. Use the electricity if you really need it.
  6. Don't hunt the animals, especially the endangered one.
  7. Don’t make the destruction, because usually we are the one who make these destructions.

So come on! Let’s protect this earth! Let’s save this earth, let’s stop this global warming! Let’s do our best!

So starting from now, let save this earth!

Best regard,

Jesslyn
